Keepin' It Local!

There are so many charitable organizations out there in need of money. One option is to give back to your community by donating to local charties. There are many ways you can do this. You don't only have to give money you can give donations or offer your own volunteer services.

National Charities such at the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or Habitat for Humanity usually have local centers in need of your volunteer services. Other local charities and organizations may also need volunteers. Check with your local soup kitchen, food bank, or support centers.

Donate more than money! Many shelters are in need of clothes or canned food. Many animal shelters could always use donated food and other items for the many animals waiting to be adopted.

Check your local magazines and papers. Many have sections listing needs for volunteers or goods/services. Take a look in the Yellow Pages to see if you have any local number you can call to find out more about the local chartiy. Also you can do a search online to see if there are any posts just waiting for you to read.

Just remember that charity can take on many forms. Find what seems right for you and any contribution you make will be appreciated.
